During the cold winter months, a blanket of mist falls over the Veluwe. During this period, the monkeys in Apenheul go to sleep and the park changes into a special, fairytale winter world called Winterheul. A unique nature experience that fits in perfectly with the mission of Apenheul, namely to stimulate love for animals and nature. During the first edition, the story of the kingfisher was told during a magical evening walk of 2 kilometers through the dark. All senses are stimulated by means of animation, light and sound and video projections. Impressive and advanced technical feats provide an audiovisual spectacle and a unique experience for young and old.

By means of the so-called slot system, visitors are guided through the park in a measured manner within a walk of approximately one hour.
Parking at the Winterheul parking lot is free.
