Apenheul is slowly changing into Winterheul this winter: a new, recurring experience in the park of Apenheul in Apeldoorn. Winterheul is for young and old and shows the magical story of the Veluwe nature and animals in light, sound and video with a different animal in the leading role each year.

From Friday 13 December 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025, Apenheul will be transformed into Winterheul. During the cold winter months, a blanket of mist falls over the Veluwe. During this period, the monkeys in Apenheul go to sleep and the park changes into a special, fairytale winter world called Winterheul. A unique nature experience that fits in perfectly with the mission of Apenheul, namely to stimulate love for animals and nature. During this first edition, the story of the kingfisher will be told during a magical evening walk of 2 kilometers through the dark. All senses are stimulated by means of animation, light and sound and video projections. Impressive and advanced technical feats provide an audiovisual spectacle and a unique experience for young and old.

Winterheul is produced by MOJO and is a collaboration with Apenheul and the makers of De Grote Schijn in the Kralingse Bos. Winterheul is open daily from 16:30 and the last time slot is at 21:30. By means of the so-called slot system, visitors are guided through the park in a measured manner within a walk of approximately one hour.
Parking at the Winterheul parking lot is free.
